I just finished a reg file for the  143 services that comes shipped with the latest  Windows 7  Version 6.1.7600



First of all, there are new dependencies in the service configurations  which will prevent us from closing as much services as we were able to do in Win XP Pro...


Now audiosrv (Windows audio service) has the following new dependences built in..



AudioEndpointBuilder


RpcSs


MMCSS




Edit:...Crap...new hidden dependencies in Audiosrv ..The old trick from RC version to clean alll the Audiosrv`s dependencies does not work any more...


I am still working on it..Don`t know how long is gonna take...



At this stage i managed to close all of the services but the ones in the screen shot..




Everything is working like a charm except for the sound(Audiosrv)

In this stage Audiosrv can not be started so you will not have sounds at all..

Ok ....Here we go again...As i was tellin` you yesterday,I just finished a reg file for the 143 services that comes shipped with the latest Windows 7 Version 6.1.7600

First of all, there are new dependencies in the service configurations which will prevent us from closing as much services as we were able to do in Win XP Pro...or even in the RC version of the Windows 7

Now audiosrv (Windows audio service) has the following new dependencies built in..


Multimedia Class Scheduler
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
DCOM Server Process Launcher
RPC Endpoint mapper
Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
Plug and Play

And the hidden one is Power service




Here`s the new modified .reg file that lets you shut down/disable all of the services but the once in the screenshot

before applying the .reg file make sure you have the User Account Control set on  "Never notify"


Here`s how to do it with the default Category Control Panel:
Head to Start
Select Control Panel
Select System and Security
Select Change User Account Control settings under Action Center header
Select the Continue button (if UAC is active)
Select the slider on the left and drag it down to "Never notify"
Select the Ok button to close the panel
Select the Yes button (since UAC is still active) to continue modification of the settings
Close the remaining open windows


You will have to reboot for the setting to take effect.

Right.....

It turns out that you can actually disable Multimedia Class Scheduler and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder as long as the Power service is on.... along with the other dependencies



Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
DCOM Server Process Launcher
RPC Endpoint mapper
Plug and Play

And of course the Power service

All you have to do is to tweak the registry a little bit..namely to remove the Multimedia Class Scheduler and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder built in dependecies from Audiosrv.

I will attach the tweaked .reg file for those who wanna give it a shot and the original one in case you decide you wanna revert back to the way it used to be..
